FOUNDER

Don Mondell is the founder and former president of SoulCare Research.

Don has served local churches for over 30 years as a Christian coach & Bible-based counselor with emphasis on addiction & past trauma recovery. He is a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors, American Association of Christian Counselors, Biblical Counseling Coalition, and the Christian Counseling Education Foundation.

Don was raised in business and in younger years served private industry and government as a director of communications & media specialist.

Recently, Don launched his blog, and intends it to be a resource for “broken” Christians. Broken Christians are those adults who still struggle with the pain caused them by alcoholics, drug addicts or verbal, physical or sexual abusers. Broken Christians want to follow God, but also often struggle with their own addictions and/or obsessive behavior. To determine if you are a broken Christian, please read Don’s article, Abuse, Addictions, Depression, Anxiety…Christian?

Don is also the author of a trilogy of upcoming books designed to help Christians who have suffered abuse to: 1) lose the pain of their past, 2) find the love of their God & 3) plan the path of their future.

Book 1: soulHOPE – Help for Christians Affected by Alcoholics, Addicts or Abusers.

Book 2: soulFOCUS – Discover Anew the God Who Refuses to Give Up On You!

Book 3: soulPURPOSE – Why On Earth Are You Here?

The books are meant to guide abused Christians from pain to praise. The hope is to help people move closer toward discovering the one-of-a-kind person God made them to be & the unique task he designed them to do.

DIRECTOR

Dr. J.R. Buskey serves as Director of Spiritual Formation for SoulCare Research and provides theological & Biblical insight for research & development on Bible-based products & services.

Dr. Buskey is a graduate of Drew University and Asbury Theological Seminary, has served as a pastor and counselor for over 40 years, as well as a missionary for more than a decade to the USSR, where he established a Bible institute that continues to educate candidates for pastoral ministries.

Dr. Buskey has also served as a college professor and continues as an adjunct professor and member of the Board of Directors for Bethany Bible Training Center. Dr. Buskey has trained ministers and pastors in Pastoral & Biblical Counseling for over three decades.

Dr. Buskey has been a forerunner to modern Christian counseling methods and practices, when in the 60’s he saw how understanding the God-given psychological makeup and personality traits of a struggling person was helpful in the approach a counselor would take in prayer, Biblical instruction, and meditation. From Dr. Buskey’s studies, he was able to synthesize a Biblical counseling approach that has served to “set the captives free” for nearly 50 years.
